Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has an opening in Irving, Texas for a Manager, Alliance Management (KHK) in our growing and dynamic Business Development Department.

Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of new drugs that target major unmet clinical needs in kidney disease, inflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. Reata is located in the attractive northwest suburbs of Dallas, TX.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Alliance Management will be primarily responsible for management and optimization of relationships with Reata's global alliance partners. This role will be a part of global project teams including partner company representatives and will directly manage day to day alliance operations, including facilitating resolution of issues. The role will be expected to become thoroughly knowledgeable of the governance structures and issues escalation processes outlined in Reata's partnership agreements and facilitate the execution of those processes with joint governance committee members as appropriate. The role will also facilitate the operationalization of Reata alliances as those partnerships mature.  The position will report to the Director of Business Development & Alliance Management.

RESPONSIBILIITES:

  • Position Reata as a premier alliance partner with transparent, honest, constructive, efficient and effective interactions with key global partners
  • Support key corporate goals related to a broad range of global regulatory filings and commercial launches by ensuring that all key alliance activities remain on track and closely coordinated with partners
  • Ensure Reata meets its contractual responsibilities to partners
  • Manage the natural tension that inevitably occurs within any partner relationship
  • Lead cross functional teams in preparing for interactions with our partners
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate international partner meetings
  • Remain familiar and close to details of the development and commercial programs to enable effective day to day coordination with global partners
  • Facilitate internal communications, strategies and any problem solving related to Reata's global partnerships
  • Identify issues as they arise internally, or as a result of partner interactions, and work with the Director, Business Development and Reata Management and other necessary stakeholders to formulate a strategy for resolution in a timely and collaborative fashion
  • Work closely and communicate often with the Director, Business Development & Alliance Management regarding all alliance management activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • 4-7 years pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in business development,  alliance management, and/or project management of elements of pharmaceutical product development
  • Experience based familiarity of the pharmaceutical product development process ranging from IND submission to commercialization
  • Project team or alliance experience with Japanese pharmaceutical firms
  • Cross-functional matrix team leadership
  • Experience reading and interpreting clinical data,  licensing contracts, business modeling, and market research are all useful
