Reata believes that novel approaches to intractable diseases have the greatest chance generating substantial improvements in the lives of patients with such diseases.

Reata is located in Irving, Texas, in the center of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

When and how was Reata founded?

Reata was founded in 2002 in collaboration with University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The Company pioneered a unique approach and sought to license a full portfolio of preclinical programs rather than focusing on a particular technology or molecule. Reata's lead program, Bardoxolone Methyl, was in-licensed from Dartmouth College and M.D. Anderson in 2004 as part of our early portfolio. All of Reata's licensing efforts focused on novel biological targets potentially active in intractable diseases. Reata maintains its founding approach focusing on innovative therapies for diseases where there is a significant unmet need.

Is Bardoxolone Methyl the only AIM currently in development?

No; behind this lead program, Reata is developing a portfolio of other AIMs for additional diseases of inflammation and oxidative stress.
