Reata Pharmaceuticals to Present at 30^th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference

IRVING, Texas, January 6, 2012 - Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that Warren Huff, President and CEO, will present a company overview at the 30^th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.  The presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 10, at 10:00 a.m. PST in the Elizabethan C/D Room at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, CA.

Mr. Huff's presentation will include an update on the development of bardoxolone methyl, a first-in-class antioxidant inflammation modulator (AIM) for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease.  He will discuss data from the recent Phase 2b BEAM trial, which was published in theNew England Journal of Medicine, as well as the status of the ongoing Phase 3 BEACON trial, a global study of 2,000 patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. 

In addition, Mr. Huff will provide an overview of the company's recently announced agreement with Abbott to jointly develop and commercialize Reata's portfolio of new AIMs worldwide.  The collaboration includes a large number of molecules in a broad range of therapeutic areas.  This is the company's second partnership with Abbott.
