6.21.2006 - Reata to Present at Jefferies Life Sciences Conference

DALLAS, TX -- June 21, 2006-- Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("Reata") today announced that it will present an overview of the company and its development programs at the Jefferies Life Sciences Conference in New York on June 27, 2006.

Warren Huff, the President and CEO of Reata, will present an overview of the company including updated clinical results of its three Phase 1 clinical development programs.  These include RTA 744, a novel anthracycline showing great promise in patients with primary brain tumors, and RTA 401 and RTA 402, novel small molecule cytokine inhibitors in Phase 1 studies for cancer and in advanced preclinical development for transplant and autoimmune indications.   Additionally, Mr. Huff will present an update on the company's innovative discovery platform which has recently identified lead molecules against p53, an important cancer target, and SOD1, a target associated with the neurodegenerative disease ALS.
