Presentation Scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 EST
IRVING, TX -- May 27, 2008 -- Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announces that its CEO, Warren Huff, will be presenting a company overview on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the FBR Capital Markets 12th Annual Spring Investor Conference. This event is being held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in New York, New York. Mr. Huff's presentation is scheduled for 2:00 pm Eastern Time. The presentation will focus on Reata’s two franchise technologies -- its AIM platform of novel, broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory agents and its protein folding discovery platform. It will also highlight a number of upcoming Phase 2 data events with Reata's two lead compounds.
The company review will provide updated clinical data on RTA 402, an orally available, first-in-class Antioxidant Inflammation Modulator (AIM) in Phase 2 development for cancer, renal dysfunction, and autoimmune diseases. This compound has produced highly promising results in early stage cancer trials, which were selected for oral presentation at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) on June 1, 2008. Mr. Huff will also share data demonstrating the potent and broad-spectrum activity of RTA 402 and other Reata AIMs in a series of high-value inflammatory indications. An update will also be provided on berubicin (also known as RTA 744), a novel anthracycline in Phase 2 development for brain metastases. Each of these drugs targets areas of substantial unmet medical need and has significant commercial potential. Lastly, Mr. Huff will provide an update on the progress the company has made in identifying small molecule drugs that correct protein misfolding.
