Reata to Present at BMO Capital Markets Healthcare Conference
Presentation Scheduled for Wednesday, August 6 at 9:00 EST
IRVING, TX -- July 28, 2008 -- Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announces that its CEO, Warren Huff, will be presenting a company overview on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the BMO Capital Markets "Focus on Healthcare Conference" at 9:00 a.m., Eastern Time. The event is being held at the Milennium Broadway Hotel in New York, New York.
The company review will highlight clinical data on RTA 402, an orally available, first-in-class Antioxidant Inflammation Modulator (AIM) in Phase 2 development for diabetic nephropathy and cancer. Mr. Huff will also share data on other AIMs advancing through preclinical development for other indications, including multiple sclerosis, COPD, and neurodegenerative diseases. Each of these drugs targets areas of substantial unmet medical need and has significant commercial potential.
An update will also be provided on berubicin (also known as RTA 744), a novel anthracycline in Phase 2 development for brain metastases. Lastly, Mr. Huff will provide an update on the progress the company has made in identifying small molecule drugs that correct protein misfolding. Using Reata's best-in-class assay, the company has succeeded in identifying a small molecule drug that rescues the misfolded SOD1, a protein implicated in the development of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known more commonly as Lou Gehrig's disease.
